Born in Indonesia and raised in Singapore Chef Sawarto graduated from the prestigious Le Cordon Bleu Culinary Institute in Paris with a qualification in Culinary Arts, Majoring in Cuisine & Pattiserie before coming back to the region to take up several opportunities in the kitchens of five-star hotels across China where he also joined a panel of judges for an international food competition in Shanghai. He quickly made his way from Chef de Cuisine to Executive Chef and traveled extensively around South East Asia to enrich his culinary skills.
As time went on his passion for food intensified and led towards opporunities alongside acclaimed Michelin starred chefs such as Christophe Bacquie, Loris Pistillo, Eyvind Hellstrom & Shawn Armstrong from France, Italy, Norway & USA respectively.
Chef Sawarto has been featured by many media outlets including Mediacorp Channel 8, Asian Food Channel and Taiwanese Asia Eastern Broadcast Channel. He has been the Resident Radio Spokesperson for 96.3 FM South China and appeared in Fujian News Express, South China (DN) Daily, CRH Chinese Magazine and Simply Her Magazine.
